I like this cover also Laurie. Street and Smith had a great tradition of holiday issues. Many of their pulp titles had special Christmas issues with several holiday stories in each magazine. Not only WESTERN STORY followed this practice year after year, but others also such as DETECTIVE STORY, POPULAR, LOVE STORY, etc.
This will be a great series to get us into the Holiday spirit. I'll be looking forward to a different cover each day.
I'm a writer, editor, and wanna-be photographer. I blog about writing, reading traveling, pulp fiction, London, history, westerns at one of my two blogs: The Londonholic and Laurie's Wild West. Take your pick.
...for a post related to pulp fiction, some posts are categorized according to the genre. So look under "pulp fiction," but also look under "pulp fiction - westerns" or "pulp fiction - detective," for example. Topics under "pulp covers" also have abbreviated historical information as well.

For Christmas covers of a different sort, check out Saucy Stories 12/35, Black Mask 1/48, 10-Story Detective 2/46, and 10-Story Book 12/37.
Without taking the time to look I think Argosy had some, also Railroad Stories. Not to mention Popular and many of the Romance pulps.
This cover makes me think in a sort of ciwboy santa claus
We were lucky to have a cat, much less a pony. Great cover and I look forward to the rest.
Thanks for running these Christmas covers, Laurie.
