I'm getting all my ducks in a row to put together a good post about one of the unsung pulp artists, R.G. Harris. But before I do, I think I need to take a day off so I can rest and rejuvinate. I'll be back, folks.
In the meantime, kick back and watch the World Cup...what is YOUR favorite team, other than the good ol' U.S.? I think at this point I'm going to root for Argentina.
Hopefully you all have air conditioning while you watch it - I hear the humidity on the east coast is beastly right now.

Weeell, actually, i don't like the World Cup. Mostly due to all the noise. Sometimes the only thing (and i mean only in big capitals) in the news is !world cuo this,, world Cup that...". is tiring.
For pulp artist, i go with one of the classics: Virgil Finlay.
Yeah, those horns are driving me crazy! Deka, at least you didn't give me a hard time about not rooting for Spain.
My favorite team is the San Diego Chargers, but but I also cheer for the Seahawks, Colts and Ravens.
Hope you can kick back and relax in this wonderful weather. Good time to read in the garden!
Argentina! ARGENTINA! How could you?
My second favorite team is whoever's playing Argentina...
Everyone needs such time occassionally. Enjoy.
I like Argentina too. The first World Cup I watched was in '86, when Maradona scored with the "Hand of God" and I've admired him ever since. This year I'm rooting for the US, England and Argentina in that order, though the order of finishing will likely be reversed.
I'll be looking forward to your post about R.G. Harris. One of my favorite pulp artists.
Thanks so much for your research on this pulp artist. I just discovered that Maynard Dixon did a few covers for westerns and other novels. Turned up in my own attempt to find out more about western writer Dane Coolidge. I will have a post on him shortly, and will try to remember to include the Dixon artwork.
Ron Scheer mentions a post about Dane Coolidge. I'm looking forward to this as Coolidge is one of my favorite western writers.
I'm just glad that with the exception of Bish I'm not getting any grief for rooting for Argentina. Although after today's US game, things are lookin up for the old home team.
