And Don't Forget....

...that later this week I'll be posting an interview with David Saunders. David had just put out his beautiful book on his father, Norman Saunders, and is also the author of several other biographies of pulp artists.

Besides being a successful pulp artist, Norman Saunders created Mars Attacks, Wacky Packs, Batman Cards, Pre-Code Comics, Men's Adventure Magazines, Paperbacks, and countless icons of Pin-Ups, Monsters, Robots, Mayhem, Nazis, Aliens and Space Ships.

Looking forward to it. My daughter has become quite good friends with her cover artist Richie Fahey. The trouble he goes to to create his covers is amazing. He is brilliant.

Thanks, Patti - David gave me a very thoughtful interview - it really is going to be amazing.

Chris - yeah, and I have the actual issue in my collection. I can send you the jpg of the scan if you want - just send me your email address.

I'm really looking forward to the Dave Saunders interview. Dave is such a nice guy and I don't just say that because he did such a swell job painting the Munsey Award for PulpFest.
Also enjoying the series you are doing on the Santa Clarita Valley. Good stuff!

Yes, I thought Dave was a nice guy too when I met him at PulpFest. He's doing a fantastic job of keeping his father's art alive. I hope to have the interview up tomorrow.

I noticed you had a promo for "Deadwood" included with the Santa Clarita article. Did you enjoy this series? Profane as all get out, Ian McShane's character made Tony Soprano sound like a Boy Scout. I loved this series and wish HBO had not cancelled it so soon. The only western that I can recall my wife getting caught up in as she liked it quite a lot.

Barry, I'm ashamed to say I haven't seen it. I didn't have HBO when it was on, and now I've been meaning to rent it - just haven't had the time. I know - it's a scandal.
